TIME AND CHANCE

ECCLESIASTES 9:11 NIV

Time and chance happen to everyone.

RUTH 1:8 ERV

Then Naomi told her daughters-in-law, “Each of you should go back home to your mother. You have been very kind to me and my sons who are now dead. So I pray that the LORD will be just as kind to you.

RUTH WAS FACED WITH A LIFE CHANGING EVENT:

Her husband has died and she is now faced with the decision to go back home to the familiar or move forward and follow her mother in-law Naomi back to her homeland.

It takes courage to embark on a new path when you don't know how the future will unfold. The Hebrew word chance implies change, as in an event, expected or unexpected, good or bad, that changes the trajectory of your life.

★ A divine intersection is a pivotal time when an old season ends and a new season begins, and God presents us with an opportunity to move forward with Him, or we can stay in an expired season. He leaves the decision to us.

★ Sometimes we plan the changes in our lives, and at other times change is forced upon us because of other people's decisions, things we cannot control, or time and chance.

NAOMI ALSO HAD TO MAKE A LIFE ALTERING DECISION:

Naomi walked through a long season of change she did not choose. She lost her husband and then, ten years later, her sons. Losing her sons was the pivotal event that created the divine intersection between Naomi's former life with everything familiar, suddenly just memories and an unknown future. Naomi could have chosen to stay in Moab and live in a familiar place with all her memories, but she decided to move forward. She bravely chose to return to Bethlehem and trust God with her future, even though she had questions about her identity and what would become of her life.

PERSONALLY:

I too experienced “Time and Chance” entering my life and bringing me to my divine intersection. I had to make a decision if I was going to move forward and trust God with my life and embark on this new journey or not. I must admit that I struggled with this in prayer for a while before taking my first step! This part of my journey has not been the easiest but in fact it has been very trying and challenging! Yet I know that God is with me and helping me every step of the way! I know that I am doing what God wants right now. He continues to be faithful and encourages me to keep going forward as I TRUST HIM!

ISAIAH 54:10 NIV

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

We must believe that God has a plan for our future and even though He doesn’t reveal everything to us, we must have the courage to take the first step in trusting Him to make all things work together for our good.

God is with us and for us!
