Pray Without Ceasing

My granddaughter Zoe gave me this little notepad that reads, “Pray Without Ceasing” and it was the very thing that inspired me to write this blog.

When we hear the words “pray without ceasing” our first thought is, I can’t do that or who goes around praying and never stopping?

Let joy be your continual feast.  Make your life a prayer.  And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 TPT

When we read this we can say to ourselves but “that’s not always easy!  But read the part of the verse that says. “In the midst of everything!” This is something that doesn’t come easy but something we must learn if we want joy!

Well I’ll tell you, lately that hasn’t been my song, trying to navigate my way through life with the right mindset and attitude doesn’t come naturally.  But I know that I must make the effort to get my breakthrough in prayer!  So I have the choice to stay where I’m at or find peace in the midst of it all. Prayer has to be our ‘go to’ and a main source in our survival kit!  At least it is been for me!

Let’s talk a little bit about prayer.  What is prayer?  Some think it’s a posture we must take in order to communicate with God.  But actually it’s an attitude, a true conveying of our heart to the Father through conversation, words expressed in our heart or mind, or even a song or whisper cried!  All those times of intimacy with God are recognized by the One who lives inside of us!

Do you not know and understand that you [the church] are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells [permanently] in you [collectively and individually]? 1 Corinthians 3:16 AMP

Recognizing our need for God in our life and utilizing the privilege to come to Him through prayer, is a BIG thing!  So many times we try to do things on our own strength and even take our time before coming to Him.

So now that we know we can “Pray Without Ceasing,” and no matter how we convey our prayer, we can be assured that He hears and He answers!
