Hear and Mirror

I recently did a message on “The Mirror” which focused on the importance of looking within and allowing the Holy Spirit to search our innermost being.

It is so important for us to be transparent and accountable in our Christian walk today and to also make sure that we apply the Word of God to our lives. These are good healthy principles that will keep us saved!

James 1:22-25 NLT
But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

In all reality, people today are bewildered, confused and hurting. Many have lost their direction and purpose in life. We see sin running rampant and the devil is having a “hay day.” There are no morals, absolutes or restraints.

You and I have been called to be the salt and light to those around us.

Matthew 5:14 NRSV
You are the light of the world.

Matthew 5:16 AMP
Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] glorify your Father who is in heaven.

The devil tries to lie to us Christians and tell us that “we don’t measure up” or “who are we” to tell others how to live. But, the fact that Christ saved us and is living inside of us is enough to bring light to someone who is still in darkness! We have the answer!

As we live in these turbulent times, we must be quickened to our purpose and calling in this life. Don’t waste time on unfruitful things, but make your days count for the Kingdom of God.

There are still many to reach, so I urge you to be real in your walk with God. Let those who come around you see a genuine love and relationship between you and your Heavenly Father.
