I have just returned from a Missionary trip in Panama City, Panama. It was a reminder for me of what being a Missionary is all about. You enter a foreign land with a different culture and way of living, not knowing anyone and sometimes not even the language! You leave all that is familiar behind, along with family, friends and your possessions (car, pets, furniture etc).
Well I just Celebrated my 51st Birthday in the Lord and cannot imagine life without Him! Through all my ups and downs Jesus has been there to see me through!
I would like to speak from the heart today and open up with the story of David when He was chosen to be King.
Throughout the Bible we can read story after story about the Faithfulness of God. We see how God takes a situation and uses it for His purpose!
I recently shared in a message about 2 Pastors that sat next to me on different flights to Hawaii and how we exchanged testimonies and talked about the Lord! I also shared about how God had quickened me about the urgency of the times and asked God to help me speak to others more! After that prayer many opportunities came my way and I was able to do just that, “Speak Jesus!”
It all took place that special night when the angel announced to the shepherds a Savior, Christ the Lord, had been born in the city of David. The angels were rejoicing and celebrating singing peace and good will to all men! The shepherds made their way into Bethlehem to witness the miracle that had taken place, Emmanuel — God with us!
God’s word tells us each season has a purpose and each one is necessary.
“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV
So it is with our lives. There are fun times when things go great and we feel good. Those are usually times we are excited about life and what God has for us. Then, we begin to experience change and no longer feel the same excitement.
I believe that God uses everything to teach us and bring growth and maturity to our lives…
