Sweet Fragrance of Our Life

As I was sitting at my desk this morning, the early breeze brought in the sweet fragrance of the Jasmine plant that is right outside my window. It reminded me of how our lives can also be a sweet fragrance to others.

Whether we realize it or not, there are many people watching us to see how we handle life and the things it brings our way. Our family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors want to know if Jesus is real in times of trouble, adversity, sickness, despair, and even victory.

Just recently, I heard these words from my children:

  • “I’m going to fight ‘cause that's what I see you do.”

  • “I’ve watched you and dad go through a lot and you never give up.”

It’s a great reward to know that others are watching you and drawing strength from what they see evident in your life. It is a sweet fragrance.

2 Corinthians 3:2 NKJV
You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men;

The only thing I know to do in my times of uncertainty is to run to the arms of my Heavenly Father and stay put. I cannot afford to lean on my own understanding and move in any direction untill I know that God says so.

Proverbs 18:10 NKJV
The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

When you are going through things you have to know that God is truly your safe place, because the devil and your emotions will tell you otherwise.

Isaiah 43:2 TLB
When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up—the flames will not consume you.

Remember, others are watching to see if what we really profess about our faith in Christ is real. They want hope and something to believe in.

Be encouraged that our God will always come through and move on our behalf. He will kill the giants and give us victory!

No matter where you may find yourself today — on the mountain top or in the valley — always know that God is faithful and that you can trust Him.

Philippians 4:13 AMP
I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]

Be a sweet fragrance by living your life to the fullest; honoring God and knowing that others will follow!
