God’s Spoken Word

I was thinking about the power of God and how when He spoke things happened!

Here are a few that come to mind:

  • In Genesis 1 God spoke the world into existence.

  • Genesis 21 God spoke to Abraham and Sarah about having a son and it happened.

  • Matthew 8 The Centurion told Jesus just to speak and his servant would be healed.

 Numbers 23:19 CSB
God is not a man, that He might lie, or a son of man, that He might change his mind. Does He speak and not act, or promise and not fulfill?

 God is speaking to us!

  • Zechariah 2 calls us the apple of His eye.

  • Galatians 3 calls us the children of God.

  • Hebrews 13 tells us “I will never fail you or abandon you.”

  • Jeremiah 31 says, “I love you with an everlasting love.

 Proverbs 18:21 NCV
What you say can mean life or death. Those who speak with care will be rewarded.

There is also power in the words we speak. It is important to speak God’s Word into our situation and circumstance. God can change things! We cannot afford to be led by our emotions because that won’t change a thing, but the power of God’s Word and the Holy Ghost will move mountains.

 Matthew 21:21
You shall say
unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

It’s a new day people, and we aren’t asleep anymore. We’ve got our “war clothes” on and are ready for battle!

 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 NCV
We fight with weapons that are different from those the world uses. Our weapons have power from God that can destroy the enemy’s strong places. We destroy people’s arguments and every proud thing that raises itself against the knowledge of God. We capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.

  • In other words, our spiritual weapons can bring down the lies of the enemy (those things spoken that are contrary to the word of God).

  • Human knowledge and reasoning are limited when it comes to the things of God.

  • We are able to get ahold of those thoughts and turn them around into right thinking, which lines up with the word and will of God.

I have been applying all this to my life lately, and I tell you, it works! It’s not a formula or magic potion…. No, it’s the word of God that is alive and powerful!

 Matthew 19:26 CEV
Jesus looked straight at them and said, “There are some things that people cannot do, but God can do anything.”

God is ready to do miracles on our behalf, but are we ready to believe in the power of His Spoken Word? Be encouraged. God is on your side!
