Strong and Courageous

This has been a crazy month with a whole lot of things going on, but I still wanted to share something with you before the night was over.

“Strong and Courageous” is the title of the journal that I’ve been writing in, and it describes exactly how I needed to be this month.

At the end of July, I got COVID along with a number of other people in our church. Boy, I don’t wish that on anybody!

Well come to find out on the day Art was having a procedure done, that he too, tested positive for COVID! The doctor had told him if he were to ever get COVID, it would take him out because his immune system was low. So with a lot of prayer, vitamins and support from others, we both made it through. Thank You, Jesus!

During this time, Art got a phone call from his doctor stating that he had a limited amount of time to live because of his cancer. It hit us like a ton of bricks, especially still having COVID and not feeling well. Then my daughter Lisa contacted COVID too because she was taking care of us. So it was a whole lot to deal with!

It’s in times like this when you have no spiritual or physical strength to fight that you experience the grace of God! The Bible clearly states that when I am weak then He is strong!

I began to focus on who my God is and all He has already done for me! He reminded me that I didn’t have to do anything but rest in Him because He’s already done it!

Oh but when I got well, then I was able to pray and fight back in the spirit! There are so many scriptures that pulled me through every situation. I began to focus on them and remind myself of those promises!

Another thing, my car had been in the repair shop for over 1 year, yes 1 year and 3 months to be exact! My air conditioner went out and my poor mechanic had so many problems finding the parts for my car, which continued to overheat! I didn’t understand what that test was all about, but I know I showed extreme patience in waiting! I told him, “We are praying that God help you fix it ‘cause I just want my car back.”

He called me the other day to pick it up and while explaining to me everything he did, my car was outside idling. When he went to turn it off, he said, “It overheated!” I could see the disappointment on his face, so I just laid my hands on his shoulder and asked the Lord to help him fix it.

Well, today my car is home and everything is brand new and running! Some tests are long and some are short. Some are harder than others, but for me, I have no other choice but to trust God!

So with all that said, I hope that something in my story encouraged you! Find hope in God. He’s not asking you to do anything but trust Him, because remember He did it all!

So yes, I think I was both strong and courageous in how I handled things this month and know that God is with me on the rest of this journey.
