Majesty in a Manger

It all took place that special night when the angel announced to the shepherds a Savior, Christ the Lord, had been born in the city of David. The angels were rejoicing and celebrating singing peace and good will to all men! The shepherds made their way into Bethlehem to witness the miracle that had taken place, Emmanuel — God with us! Joseph and Mary could be found gazing upon the face of baby Jesus. Sometime later, the wise men who had followed a star from the east arrived bearing gifts fit for a king.

What could all this mean? Birth of a Savior? Emmanuel (God with us)?  Christ the Lord? How does this apply to you and me?

John 3:16-17 (TPT)
For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it!

Yes! This marvelous gift wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger is God’s perfect gift for you and me. It is the demonstration of a loving Father who created a plan to redeem His creation back unto Himself.

So when you hear the real Christmas story about baby Jesus lying in a manger, let us remember that it’s not about the tree, lights, presents, or festivities. Let this season remind us that the Majesty lying in a manger went on to grow up and fulfill the greater purpose for which He came — you and I, and the salvation of all mankind!

Isaiah 9:6 KJV
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Majesty in a Manger — God’s greatest gift!  Merry Christmas, everyone.
