There’s a song titled “I Am Free” with the chorus saying:

●     I am free to run

●     I am free to dance

●     I am free to live for You

●     I am free

 Do we even realize what that means, to be able to not only sing it but live it?

What is the definition of free? 

●     Not under the control or in the power of another; able to act or be done as one wishes.

This caused me to think about each verse and this thought came to mind.

1. I am free to run-   Hebrews 12:1  “Since we are surrounded by so many examples (of faith), we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially sin that distracts us. We must run the race that lies ahead of us and never give up.

 Art would always say; “ We are running in a Marathon and not a Relay Race; so we must go the distance and finish our course and not give up!

 2. I am free to dance-  Psalm 149:3  “Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!

 When we are in Worship and realize that we are before an audience of ONE!

 3. I am free to live for you-  Galatians 5:1 “Christ has freed us so that we may enjoy the benefits of freedom.  Therefore, be firm in this freedom, and don’t become slaves again.”

 Any benefits, rights or privileges we are able to experience is because of JESUS!  Let’s not take that freedom lightly and allow ourselves to get messed up again!

 John 8:36  “Jesus said, “I tell you most solemnly that anyone who chooses a life of sin is trapped in a dead-end life and is, in fact, a slave.  A slave can’t come and go at will.  The Son, though, has an established position, the run of the house.  So if the Son sets you free, you are free through and through.”

 Let us Celebrate our Freedoms and remember that the price was paid by SOMEONE!  Don’t squander it, abuse it or take it lightly, but live life to the fullest and especially live it honoring and pleasing GOD!
